Album: Postmarked Pain

Album Front Cover

Back Cover
"Postmarked Pain" is River Lee’s most raw and vulnerable album to date, born from one of the darkest chapters of his life. Inspired by the pain, shame, and resilience he experienced while working for the United States Postal Service, this album reflects the personal fallout of being falsely set up by a family member and ultimately convicted of Felony Theft by a Postal Employee.
Through its deeply emotional lyrics and evocative melodies, "Postmarked Pain" explores the weight of betrayal, the anguish of losing trust and reputation, and the slow journey toward redemption and self-forgiveness. Each track feels like an unsent letter filled with confessions, regrets, and hard-won wisdom. River Lee’s ability to transform his personal suffering into anthems of resilience and hope makes this album a cathartic and unforgettable listening experience.
With a mix of aching ballads and defiant anthems, "Postmarked Pain" is a testament to the power of music as a means of healing and reclaiming one’s truth. It’s a deeply personal yet universally resonant album for anyone who’s ever faced life’s injustices and fought to rise above them.

The Story Behind Album's Creation/Inspiration
"Postmarked Pain" is set to be my sophomore album. It is an album born from one of the darkest and most painful chapters of my life. It’s the product of the emotional and psychological grief I endured after being falsely accused and convicted of Felony Theft by a Postal Employee—something I have always maintained my innocence in. The weight of that accusation, and the devastation that followed, wasn’t just about the legal battle; it was about betrayal, the feeling of being abandoned, and the struggle to hold onto my truth when it felt like the world had already decided my fate.
What makes it even harder to stomach is knowing that this accusation didn’t come out of nowhere—I truly believe I was set up by my ex-husband and eldest sister. That kind of betrayal cuts deeper than any conviction ever could. When the people who are supposed to love and protect you become the ones who turn against you, it shatters something inside.
Music became my only way to process it all. "Postmarked Pain" is my way of reclaiming my voice, of telling my side of the story the only way I know how—through raw, unfiltered honesty. Every track on this album is laced with the emotions I battled: anger, heartbreak, resilience, and ultimately, the determination to rise above the wreckage. This isn’t just an album—it’s my truth, my pain, and my way of refusing to let their lies define me.
