"Relentless Shadow" is a chilling and deeply personal song inspired by the real-life haunting my husband Brandon and I experienced during the entire year we lived in our apartment. It wasn’t just a feeling—we both saw it. A shadowy figure would manifest, moving through our home, always drawn to the spare back bedroom and my office. No matter what we did, it would return, slipping in through the closet off the dining room before making its way to those rooms like it had a purpose, an attachment to something we couldn’t see.

One night, I was working late in my office and ended up falling asleep at my desk. That was the night it made its presence fully known. My husband, Brandon, was terrified when he saw it. The shadow had shown up in a way that was undeniable, and the fear in his voice when he told me what happened was something I’ll never forget. Whatever it was, it had pushed the boundaries too far. From that night on, Brandon forbade me from going back into that room. We knew we weren’t just imagining things this presence was real, and it wasn’t going anywhere. The next day I sat and wrote this song.
